Stringer.

Stringer is a coastal beach house in Blairgowrie on the Mornington Peninsula, designed for a young family. The plan is open and lives that way through summer, with the indoor and outdoor rooms blurred deliberately. The brief asked for music to carry through the open plan and out to the pool, blinds to manage privacy and the coastal afternoon sun, and security that stayed in the background. The technology had to fit family life, not interrupt it.

Open-plan poolside entertaining runs on multi-zone audio that carries from the kitchen out across the indoor and outdoor rooms, so a single track holds the morning swim, the lunch and the evening without anyone changing rooms. Motorised blinds handle privacy and comfort in the family rooms, dropping for glare and lifting again when the afternoon eases. Discreet security is reachable on the app and quietly present, with cameras and alarm checked from anywhere without being on display. One Control4 backbone runs the lot, with the system kept small enough for everyday family life. A beach house that lives open and looks after the small details. The blinds know when to drop. The music knows where to follow.
