The vision.
Iolaire is a private estate in Merricks on the Mornington Peninsula, shaped around the moment of arrival. The owners wanted the estate to recognise them and respond as one coordinated gesture from the front gate inward. The brief named the moment that mattered: a Friday evening, six o'clock, the start of the weekend. Every system from access to lighting to audio had to come up in a single sequence so the residence felt like it had been waiting for them.
The experience.
From the front gate, a single user code triggers a coordinated sequence across the estate: gate access opens, garden lighting lifts along the drive, the correct garage bay opens automatically, and internal lighting forms a path guiding movement through to the kitchen. On Friday evenings, a scene we wrote with the family activates curated music across the living spaces to signal the start of the weekend, with the residence reading the moment rather than waiting to be told. Gate, garage, lighting, audio and security sit on one Control4 backbone. Every arrival is one keypad press from a residence that is ready. An estate that recognises its owners. Friday begins at the gate.
